KMC-Mitsubishi-Koga strong in Battle of Norg

Norg was all about cycling this weekend, with off road (mountainbike) racing on Saturday and on road cycling on Sunday. However, 50 kilometre of the 160 kilometre long road race went over unpaved sandy- and gravel roads: perfectly suitable for mountainbikers. Stefan Vreugdenhil was runner-up on Saturdays 105 kilometre long cyclosportive Battle of Norg, followed by Marting Schuttert in 4th place. On Sunday, Bram Rood, Ramses Bekkenk and Stefan Vreugdenhil  finished just out of the top ten.

“Right from the start, I was in the leading group and I felt very strong today. When five riders sprinted away, I turned out to be the strongest rider in the remaining group so unfortunately I was not able to work my way back to the new leading group. The race ended with a real battle, in which Ramses managed to come close to the head of the race and I crashed in the last turn. Eventually, I finished 12th after Ramses, and Stefan finished 17th. Not bad for a couple of mountainbikers”, stated Rood.
