In the Saarschleifen marathon over 98 kilometres was Karen Brouwer by far the fastest woman and with a 23th place she also left a lot of men behind in the general classification. With a race time of 4:42 she arrived far in front of German Katrin Schwing who finished at 2th place.
“It was a nice and challenging marathon today with 2300 altimeters. In the first lap I was at second place but when we entered 2th lap I passed Katrin Schwing and managed to finish 10 minutes in front of her.”, stated a satisfied Karen Brouwer.
