Karen Brouwer wins in Grafshaft, Ramses Bekkenk 4th place

By winning the 109 kilometre long marathon in Grafshaft, Karen Brouwer improved her course record from last year. Heavy rainfall before and during the race did not stop Brouwer from riding a fast and confident marathon.

“I remembered from last year’s marathon that it was a fast one, since my average speed had been 21,6 kilometres an hour. This year I started ahead of the race once again, riding together with the leader of the middle distance for a while but eventually I managed to take the lead’, explains a satisfied Brouwer. Monique Zeldenrust was runner up behind Brouwer. Team members Ramses Bekkenk and Ad de Brabander finished 4th and 11th respectively. Winner of the men’s race was Søren Nissen.
