It looked like lightening was going to spoil the party at the mountainbike marathon race in ‘s-Heerenberg just after the start but luckily sun appeared very soon again so all bikers could continue their race. Karen Brouwer had a good start and immediately left her concurrent riders behind and rode to victory. Teammate Stefan Vreugdenhil did not a that good start but managed to gain some places at the end of the race and finished at 7th place. In the evening there was a cyclocross race in which Bart Barkhuis finished at second place behind winner Thijs Wolsink.
