A strong race by Karen Brouwer in Andalucia Bike Race was rewarded with a second place today. A relief for Brouwer after she struggled with the steep climbs in yesterdays prologue in which she finished at tenth place.
‘Around Cordoba we had a stage of 80 kilometres on our program today. After a long flat first part of the race I went in front uphill and found a good climbing rhythm. I was able to keep this good rhythm during the whole race and only made some mistakes in the final rocky descend to the finish. Great to be here on the podium and I will do all I can to be there again this week.,’ stated Brouwer.
