On the 5th day of TransAlp Rood and Vreugdenhil rode on a steady 15 th place in the short stage from Sarntheim to Kaltern over 67 kilometres. Franz Hofer and Daniele Mensi took the stage win in front of Markus Kaufmann and Jochen Käß who kept the lead in the general classification.
Bram Rood: “We enjoyed todays descends during a dry stage with a perfect cycling temperature. We know that our goal, a top 10 place, is not possible anymore due to Stefan his injuries. So it doesn’t make sense to take all risks because there are more important races on our program after TransAlp for us.”
