At the SKS Kellerwald marathon in Germany’s Gilserberg both Karen Brouwer as well as Stefan Vreugdenhil and Ramses Bekkenk managed to claim a spot on the podium. After an alternative start route, Ramses and Stefan were part of the leading group right away in the 120 kilometre long marathon over 3000 altimeters.
Unfortunately, Ramses lost time due to a deflating rear tyre. He was able to change the wheel after which he competed in a sprint for second place, finishing third. The Danish Søren Nissen won the race. Stefan claimed third place in his age class, taking 8th place in the general classification. Karen Brouwer finished as runner-up at the 80 kilometre long marathon and is working her way back after a knee injury.
