In her debut in the Bartje200, Mariëlle Trouwborst finished second behind winner Marjet Groen. Both women were immediately in a group between the men and their lead continued to increase. Initially, both women seemed evenly matched, but after approximately 150 kilometers of racing in the woods near Gieten, Groen managed to create a gap and continue to increase her lead over Trouwborst.
“Marjet was a bit stronger today and of course I would have liked to have beaten her, but I am certainly satisfied with my second place. It was a great experience to be able to ride such a big round off-road and a big compliment to the organization that made this possible. In the end, after seven hours and five minutes, I also finished in the top twenty in the overall result,” said Trouwborst. Iris Offerein took the last podium place. Rozanne Slik had a good start and was in third place when she unfortunately dropped out after sixty kilometers in the race.
