The KMC-Mitsubishi-Koga team had another success, this time at the Vulkanbike Marathon in Germany’s Daun where Karen Brouwer finished first in the 85 kilometre long marathon.
“The marathon in Daun is a very fast race with short climbs and descents. Until the second care station I raced alongside Isabelle Klein, and had been forced to let her drive off a few times. Nevertheless I sprinted away just after the care station, winning the race with a lead of two minutes”, says Brouwer. In the 100 kilometre long men’s race, team members Bram Rood and Ramses Bekkenk finished 6th and 7th respectively after winner Tim Böhme.
