Sunday 21 September was the second edition of the Franeker City Wall Cross. The course follows the beautiful fortress of Franeker, providing natural differences in height as well as spectacular obstacles. The race consists of a knock-out sprint race and a cross race. Barkhuis won both components, followed by Henk Bos.
“To prepare for the upcoming cross season, lately I have been riding a lot of street races because they are equally intensive. After being runner-up twice, in Havelte and Oldebroek, it is great to finally win”, states Barkhuis.
