In the Italian village Riolo Terme Karen Brouwe finished at third place in the Rally di Romagna. This mountainbike stage race over five days started last Thursday and was characterized by a lot of climbing in hot and dry circumstances. With following two fourth, a second a third and second place in the stages which varied over 40 till 95 kilometers Brouwer’s shape improved during the race. I had to find my climbing ritme on the steep climbs so the last stages went already much easier. Despite I suffered a lot in especially stage four over 95 kilometers which took me five and an half hour I really enjoyed the great single tracks.’, stated the KMC- Fruit to Go bikester. Fellow countrywoman Jannitta van den Brink rode a strong race as well and finished at sixth place behind German winner Cemile Trommer.
