After six days of racing in Andalucia Karen Brouwer received her well deserved second price in Linares. Brouwer rode a solid last stage and managed to leave her closest rival Elena Gaddoni from Italy behind in the final and secured her second place. End winner was Brasilian Raiza Goulâo and Gadonni finished third.
‘This was my first stage race over six days so up front I didn’t know what to expect. Although it was really tough I was still able keep up the pace in the last stages. I didn’t take to much risks any more in the final stage as in mountainbiking a flat tire or other mechanical problems can always happen. Really great to be here on the podium on second place.’, stated a happy Brouwer.
