Bram Rood and Gerben Mos have won the first edition of Offroad Valdres with start and finish in Fagernes Norway. It was a hard and close race with Norwegian duo Greg Saw and Thomas Engelsgjerd. At the first checkpoint at 42 kilometers both teams were together but afterwards the Norwegians managed to take a small lead. But as it was a race over 155 kilometers it was not decided yet.
In the last kilometers Rood and Mos managed to close the gap and after 7:51 they passed the finish line with almost two minutes ahead of Norwegian duo Saw-Engelsgjerd. ‘We did a good course check in the week before the race. On some sections we had a disadvantage on our hardtails but on some sections it was for sure faster. In the final we had good tracks and a last climb and so we managed to close the gap to the leaders and left them behind. ‘Great to win this first edition of Offroad Valdres.’, stated Rood en Mos.
