The start of the Epic Israël which took place from 8th till 10th of Oktober was without prosperity for Brouwer and Terpstra. In the first stage over 117 kilometers they arrived with much delay due to a flat tire which took much time to repair. The day after it all went smooth from the start and Terpstra and Brouwer were long time leading the race but in the end after 107 kilometers they finished on 2th place.
On the last day they finally got rewarded for their strong riding by winning the last stage over 68 kilometers. In the general classification they took 4th place. ‘The Epic Israel was a great adventure to end our mountainbike season. The victory in the last stage made up the misfortune we faced in the first stage.’, stated Terpstra en Brouwer.
