Naast de Italiaanse Dolomieten lieten Tim Smeenge en Roel Verhoeven vandaag ook hun naaste concurrenten achter zich. Na 112 kilometer kwamen ze op een vierde plaats aan in Folgaria nadat ze in de vallei vol gas hadden gegeven toen hun concurrenten van team Bulls en Wilier Force 7c de aansluiting verloren. Op het duo Frey-Stauffer van Bulls werd gisteren ook al tijd gepakt toen het KMC duo als vijfde eindigde.

‘We did most of the work in the valley to increase our lead on Bulls and Wilier Force 7c. In the final we paid a bit of a price as we lost the leaders in the last climb and missed the podium. For the general classification it paid off as we are now solid positioned on the fifth place. Two more days to go before we finish in Molveno on Saturday.’, stated Smeenge.
The Swiss-German duo Urs Huber and Simon Stiebjahn won stage four and five and also took over the leaderjersey from Austrian-German duo Geismayr-Käß today.
