The second stage in TransAlp from Imst to Nauders over 87 kilometres and 2900 altimeters took place under very tough weater circumstances. The sunny weather of the day before was replaced by rain and temperature dropped down from 30 to local 5 degrees.
“It was really a bad day for me due to the consequences of my crash yesterday. After the neutralization we immediately had a very long climb to the ‘Pillerhöhe’ which kept us more or less a bit warm but also caused my left leg blocked. Also my brushed back and shoulders made this stage to a really tough one. Bram helped me a lot by taking care of food and drink and he really pulled me through this stage.”, stated a cold and exhausted Stefan Vreugdenhil at the finish line in Nauders. Hannes Genze and Daniel GiesMayr won todays stage.
