Paul Häuser wins the SKS mountain bike marathon in Sundern

In the German Sundern, Paul Häuser rode solo to victory yesterday. From the start, Häuser was part of a small leading group and with 45 of the 100 kilometers to go, Häuser decided to launch an attack. With this, he managed to leave his fellow escapees Aaron Wilhelmi and Sacha Starker behind him and he started his solo adventure. Riding at his own pace, he managed to keep the pursuers behind him in an impressive way.

‘It’s great to win this classic German marathon that has been around for over 30 years. Now on to the Italian Riva where another great classic is on the program next weekend,’ said Häuser. Teammate Rozanne Slik finished third in the women’s category. Lola Bakker rode to second place in the 55 kilometers and today managed to achieve a neat third place at the NL Cup in Havelte behind winner Annemijn van Limpt.
