Mariëlle Trouwborst today ran to victory in the combined classification in the Egmond half marathon in a fast time of 1:20:51. On Saturday she just missed the podium with a fourth place, but she already set the fastest cycling time among the ladies who competed for victory in the combination beachracing/running.
‘In the beach race the start was very fast downwind and I immediately missed the connection with the first three ladies. In the last part with the wind diagonally against me, I managed to pull away from the other ladies in our group and finish fourth. Today I ran much faster than expected and managed to win the combined classification, just like last year.’, says Trouwborst.
