Mariëlle Trouwborst the strongest on the Scheveningen beach
With the Dutch Beach Race Championships in Renesse next week, Mariëlle Trouwborst had an excellent dress rehearsal on the beach of Scheveningen today. In the race over 54 kilometers, she managed to deal with fellow escapee Femke Markus in the last sand section before the finish. Lola Bakker managed to take the third podium place.
‘Today we rode in nice dry conditions with little wind. This course suits me because it involves climbing a dune running twice per lap. Towards the finish there was a short running section as well and afterwards the sprint to victory,” says Trouwborst.
