For Mariëlle Trouwborst, the coming period will once again be focused on beach races. Last Saturday, she returned to competition in Egmond, crossing the finish line in second place behind winner Nina Kessler. Her KMC teammate, Rozanne Slik, finished fourth. Martin Schuttert failed to reach the finish line after damaging his tire on one of the many razor-sharp shell fragments scattered across the beach.
“November is going to be a busy month; next week, I’ll be lining up for the MTB Beach Race in Zandvoort. After that, I’m trying something new by participating in the National Cross Duathlon Championships in Pijnacker. Due to an injury, I was only able to start running quite late, but we’ll see what I can achieve in this discipline. I’ll wrap up the month with beach races in Katwijk and Wijk aan Zee,” says Trouwborst.
