KMC-Fruit to Go on the podium again in Cape Pioneer Trek

Both KMC-Fruit to Go duo’s battled in front line again today in third stage of Cape Pioneer Trek over 99 kilometers. The route was heading from Mosselbay to George and till 80 kilometers Bram Rood and Gerben Mos managed to stay at the front row. In the last singletracks to George they were dropped by later winners and number two Alan Hatherley/Matthew Beers and Nico Bell/Gawie Combrinck. With today’s result Rood and Mos strengthen their 3th position in general classification but their backlog on the leaders and numbers two has grown as well.

Karen Brouwer and Ramses Bekkenk had an excellent day in the mixed category and finished second behind Carmen Buchacher and Charles MC Fall who managed to win all three stages till now. Their second place also meant a second place in the general classification. ‘We choose to race our own race today and that worked out well. Due to the strong wind in our group no one really wanted to keep up the pace. So I did it for a while in order not to loose our lead on our competitors.’, stated Bekkenk.
