Karen Brouwer wins Beskidy MTB Trophy, Ramses Bekkenk second

The four-day mountainbike Beskidy MTB Trophy is a challenging stage race in Poland, known for its many climbs and descents. Though similar stage races usually contain long, flat parts – often over asphalt-, in the Beskidy mountains climbs and descents are formed of stones, sand and tree stumps. The challenge in each stage is not necessarily provided by length, but rather by altimeters and the tough surface.

For KMC-Mitsubishi-Koga, the Beskidy MTB Trophy was very successful with three stage wins for Karen Brouwer. Though losing the first stage due to a wrong turn in the course, Karen showed to be the strongest rider in the remaining stages, therefore winning the overall ranking.

Ramses won the third and fourth stage, taking second place in the overall ranking behind Polish Patryk Piasecki. Brouwer and Bekkenk together with Bart Barkhuis and Martin Schuttert also managed to win the team mixed ranking on all four days.
