Good start for Bram Rood, bad luck for Bekkenk

Bram Rood had a good start in Titan Desert with a 7th place in the first stage over 116 kilometers and 2652 altimeters from Boumalne Dades to Aknoiun. Teammate Ramses was not so luckily as he crashed after 3 kilometers and injured his ribs and shoulder. He also had to deal with a deflating tire two times and ended up at an 17th place. Stefan Vreugdenhil arrived on 22th place in Aknoiun.

‘Today we maybe did the most severe climb in our career. The combination of the steep climbs, the tough ground and immense heat over 40 degrees made this stage to a real torture. This stage was also marked as the toughest one so that one is in the pocket. Tomorrow we will have more down than uphill so that’s a good prospect.’, stated Ramses Bekkenk.
