During the Sportlandgoed cyclocross in Zwartemeer Karen Brouwer finished second behind Floor Weerink this weekend. After the Cape Pioneer in South Africa where Brouwer finished third with teammate Ramses Bekkenk she took some rest. Coming weeks she will get back in competition by riding some cyclocross races.
‘Cyclocross races are quite short with only fourty minutes to race. As I have not so many points I have to start from the back which makes it tough to get in front in time. This weekend I had a good start and only a deflating rear tire made the end of the race a bit tense. Luckily their was enough air left to finish in second place.’, stated Brouwer.
