The KMC-Mitsubishi-Koga team brought on Ameland tension back in the Lotto beachrace classification. Bram Rood and Ramses Bekkenk forced an early attack in the race together with later winner Bram Imming and managed to start the final with a wide lead. Imming just managed to beat Bram Rood in the sprint.
‘We immediately choose to ride together with Imming because we knew that we would do great business for general classification. Ramses did a great job for me to increase our lead. In the group behind we had Stefan Vreugdenhil who managed to finish at 4th place. In the sprint I just came a bit too short but I take the leaders jersey with just one point ahead of Thijs Zonneveld. One thing is sure it will be a thrilling final next week in Castricum in the last race! ’, stated Rood.
Rood’s teammate Martin Schuttert finished 3th in the prologue before the beachrace. In the classification of combined Prologue and Beachrace Martin finished 2th behind Roy Beukers
