Teus Ruijter wins Hard’n mountain bike marathon in Belgian Miavoye

The heart of the Hermeton Valley was today the setting for the second official round of the Belgian Ardennes Marathon Series. In a sprint with his last remaining competitor Simon Gregoire, Teus Ruijter took victory in the 105 kilometer mountain bike marathon with start and finish in Miavoye.

‘We had nice weather conditions for racing today, although it was quite warm. The course was in good condition, but as always it was still very muddy in the lower parts. After slightly weaker legs halfway through the race, I still felt very strong in the final and we managed to leave Joris Massaer behind us so that we were left with two men at the front. In the uphill sprint I was slightly stronger than the Belgian Simon Gregoire. It is always nice to win and I am looking forward to the coming weeks with the Ardennes Trophy and the Bike Festival in Willingen on my programme,” says Ruijter.
