Rozanne Slik extended her beach race season by travelling to Pembrey Country Park in Wales this weekend. There she finished second on Saturday evening in the ‘Battle in the Dark’, a time trial of eight and a half kilometres on the beach and through dunes.
On Sunday the starting shot sounded for ‘Battle on the Beach’ in which the participants first cover five kilometres on the beach and then cycle back ten kilometres through the dunes. This lap had to be completed three times and Puck Pinxt ultimately proved to be the strongest lady followed by Xan Crees and Slik. “It was a wonderfully beautiful and atmospheric event and the beach here is incredibly wide and perfect for cycling. All in all a special experience and I am very pleased with my third place,” said Slik.
