Rood en Mos trown back by bad luck

On fifth and sixth day of Cape Pioneer Trek Bram Rood and Gerben Mos had to deal with bad luck. On Thursday Rood broke his seatpost and he had to continue the race for 35 kilometers with the remaining part. Today Mos cut his tire on a sharp stone just after the first tech zone. After they had fixed it twice with an inner tube they could finally switch wheels after almost 30 kilometers in the second tech zone.

Today the flat tire threw them way back in time and to sixth place in GC. Fellow countrymen Jeroen Boelen and Erik Groen also had to deal with bad luck and lost their thirth place in GC to South African duo James Reid and Jullian Jessop. Olympic rower Mitchel Steenman and Matthijs Jasperse gained a place in GC despite a tire change and are now ranked at 13th place.
