Roel Verhoeven takes on the Everesting Challenge tomorrow. The KMC biker is already in good shape for a while as he was prepared for the National Championships marathon in April which were cancelled. His thoughts were it would be a waste not to do something with his good shape and therefore he will be climbing solo minimal 8.848 altimeters.
‘The concept of Everesting is fiendishly simple: Pick any hill, anywhere in the world and complete repeats of it in a single activity until you climb 8,848m – the equivalent height of Mt Everest. I have choosen the van Randwijckweg in Beek Ubbergen to do my Challengeand I will have to do the segment around 150 times to find my name in the Everesting Hall of Fame.’, stated Verhoeven.
