Straight after the Dutch marathon championships Ramses Bekkenk departed to Australia where he will start on 18th of October in the Crocodile Trophy. Nine stages over in total 770 kilometres and 17.000 altimeters will bring him from Smithfield to Port Douglas.
“This race was already planned for 2011 and I was already on the start list. Unfortunately I broke my elbow in Transalp that year en recovery took a lot of time so I was not able to start. As a real marathon rider this race has to be on my list and I am really looking forward to finally do this stage race.”, stated Bekkenk.
