Mariëlle Trouwborst secured an impressive fifteenth-place finish at the European Gravel Championships in Houffalize. On a challenging 47-kilometer course through the Belgian Ardennes, she managed to work her way up the field after a slow start.
“We had to complete three laps of 47 kilometers with 790 meters of elevation gain each—totaling nearly 2,400 meters—which was quite tough. During the race, I managed to catch up with riders who had initially been in the lead group. I am very pleased with this performance,” said Trouwborst. The race was won by Femke Markus.
