De SKS marathon over 100 kilometers was won by Karen Brouwer this weeekend. In 2015 and 2016 she also mamaned to win this race in German Sundern. Teammate Gerben Mos rode a strong homerace in Havelte. Behind winner Erik Groen he ended up at third place in this cross country race at the ‘Havelterberg’.
‘Cemile Trommer passed me when we just entered the second loop of 50 kilometers but shortly after that I caught her and was solo in front again increasing my leading position. The gap I made was very helpfull in the end as my legs felt empty and only a few minutes were left from my comfortable lead.’, stated Brouwer.
Teammate Mos missed the three men leading group from the start. With three laps to go he appeared to be strongest from the chasing group and in front one man dropped back. So in the end Mos took an unexpected podium finish after he returned ill from the European Championships marathon in Italy this week.
