Karen Brouwer managed to win the Saarschleifen marathon over 98 kilometers in German Orscholz for the third year in a row. ‘Last year was a close battle with Katrin Schwing but this year I could ride more my own pace as I had a quite a lead on number two. ‘Great to win here again .’, stated Brouwer.
Teammate Ramses Bekkenk had a difficult Iron Bike this year. Bekkenk faced some problems with his stomic and was not 100% fit in this eight days stage race crossing the Italian Alpes. Despite the adversity Bekkenk faced the KMC-Fruit To Go biker finished at fourth place behind winner Milton Ramos and as second in Master 40+ category.
