After winning the MTB beach race in Scheveningen three years in a row, Mariëlle Trouwborst had to settle for second place this year, behind Puck Pinxt. She lost touch with Pinxt on the first lap of the three 18-kilometer laps. She was unable to close the gap in the remaining two laps. She did, however, manage to shake off Kirstie van Haaften in the battle for second place. Van Haaften had won the day before in Huisduinen, where Trouwborst also finished second and Pinxt finished third.
