Just like last year Ramses Bekkenk will be at the start line in Oudtshoorn for the 36One MTB Challenge on the 20th of April. Last year he debuted and managed to win this race over 361 kilometers in a record breaking time of 13 hours 59 minutes and 55 seconds. This year the KMC-Fruit to Go biker will also give everything to win again and break his own record crossing the Klein Karoo in South Africa.
‘My preparation to the race has been good and I was possible to make long rides despite the weather. I did some training by night as well to get used to riding in the dark. Last weekend I tested my shape and bike during the ‘Hel van Groesbeek’ and I am content with my shape. In 2017 I rode the main part of the race alone so with good company till the end a new record must be possible this year. Ofcourse I hope in that case I am the one with the best legs in the final.’, stated Bekkenk.
