Bart Barkhuis surprised in Lierop Saturday by winning the National cross. The inhabitant of Norg was part of a five man leading group but managed to escape in the end of the race and arrived solo. ‘I knew I made a step this year in the mountainbike races but I didn’t expect to win a national cyclocross race. It gives me a lot of confidence for coming races.’, stated Barkhuis.
