The victory for Karen Brouwer in the ‘Hel van Groesbeek’ was already her third win of this early season. Just like in 2015 no other woman came close to Brouwer and she also left a lot of men behind in this fast marathon over 105 kilometers in Groesbeek area. 
For teammate Gerben Mos the race was harder as he was part of the leading group till halfway of the race. From than on he had to let the leaders go and was out on his own chasing. In the end Mos made a strong come back but came a bit to short to catch number five and six and ended at seventh place behind Danish winner Soren Nissen.
