The circumstances were completely different but Ramses Bekkenk, Karen Brouwer and Robby de Bock managed to win on the beach this weekend. Bekkenk did it by finishing second in Castricum which was enough to win the BeachRace competition. Teammates Bram Rood and Stefan Vreugdenhil finished third and sixth and kept their third and fourth place in the competition behind Sven Broekaart who won the last race. 
At the other side of the North Sea in Wales Battle on the Beach took place where Karen Brouwer and Robby de Bock won the Saturday evening time trial in the dark. Teammate Martin Schuttert finished second. In the main race on Sunday Karen was by far the strongest and managed to win the Battle for the second time. Robby de Bock and Martin Schuttert finished at fourth and eleventh place behind winner Richard Jansen.
