In the fourth race of the beachrace competition the riders had to deal with a storm as opponent. Despite this storm four brave men called Ramses Bekkenk, Ronan van Zandbeek, Sander Lormans and Patrick Kos attacked early in the race. They managed to increase their lead step by step and arrived at the turning point in Petten with a small lead. 
From than on it was full throttle for Bekkenk and van Zandbeek was the only one we could follow. But after a while he had to let go Bekkenk as well and Bekkenk took the win and increased his lead in the beachrace competition. Van Zandbeek and Kos managed to stay ahead of the pursuers and stood aside of Bekkenk on the podium. KMC teammembers Bram Rood and Stefan Vreugdenhil crossed the finish line at sixth and seventeenth place and kept their thirth and fourth place in the competition.
