The Patina Beach Battle beach race in Wijk aan Zee was an exciting one for the women today. It was soon the eventual winner Puck Pinxt, Mariëlle Trouwborst, Rozanne Slik, Nina Kessler and Femke Markus who took the lead. Shortly after the start of the last lap, Slik and Markus dropped away but they managed to catch up with the leaders again. The women could therefore prepare for a sprint for the victory. In this, Pinxt beat Markus and Trouwborst. Slik and Kessler crossed the finish line in fourth and fifth place.
