On Tuesday, the “Northern” riders Bas Luca de Vries (KMC) and Jelle Wietse Jongedijk (Giant) will start as a duo in the five-day mountain bike stage race Andalucia Bike Race. The race begins with a 17-kilometer prologue in Granada, featuring an impressive 624 meters of elevation gain. The riders will then move on to Jaén and Córdoba, where they will also complete two stages.
Due to the wet weather conditions in southern Spain, all stages have been slightly shortened. “It’s going to be a tough race with the best specialists from the mountain bike marathon at the start. A great opportunity to measure ourselves against the world’s elite. I’m really looking forward to the start in Granada,” said de Vries.
