She needed just over three hours to complete the varied course. &#8220;The loop consisted of short, very steep climbs and somewhat longer ones, as well as a few nice, fast descents. I was in the lead early in the race but turned it into a great battle with the men,&#8221; said Bakker. Elodie Kuijper and the German Nina Kuhn completed the podium.<\/p>\n<p>Teammate Teus Ruijter also competed for the victory in the 95-kilometer marathon but unfortunately had a day of bad luck. A sharp stone punctured his tire. After plugging it and changing wheels at the tech zone, Ruijter returned to the front of the race.
