Teammate Ramses was not so luckily as he crashed after 3 kilometers and injured his ribs and shoulder. He also had to deal with a deflating tire two times and ended up at an 17<sup>th<\/sup> place. The combination of the steep climbs, the tough ground and immense heat over 40 degrees made this stage to a real torture. This stage was also marked as the toughest one so that one is in the pocket.
